Which design firms will decorate upcoming Kips Bay show house in West Palm Beach?

The just-announced roster includes 24 design studios from across the country that will participate in the fundraiser, opening March 5 for a month of tours.

You won’t find any Palm Beach-based interior firms on the roster of professionals who will be decorating rooms at the upcoming Kips Bay Decorator Show House Palm Beach fundraiser in the Old Northwood neighborhood.

Instead, 24 designers from firms across the country — including two with offices in Palm Beach County — will be participating in the fifth annual show house. The project will open for a month of in-person and virtual tours in early March at the historic house known simply as “The Mansion” at 3001 Spruce Ave. in West Palm Beach.

The roster of design firms, announced this week, does include seasonal Palm Beach resident Jim Dove, whose Jim Dove Design is based in Short Hills, New Jersey, but has a satellite office in West Palm Beach.

The roster also included Nikki Levy Interiors of Boca Raton .In addition, the announcement said that one of the design firms, The Lewis Design Group of Glen Cove, New York, is opening a studio in the Palm Beach Area sometimes this winter. A spokeswoman for designer Barbara Lewis confirmed this week that it would be a by-appointment-only location in Juno Beach.

It’s usual for the show house not to have at least one firm with a Palm Beach address on its participants’ list, but diversity is one of the things that distinguishes the project, said a statement provided by a spokesman for the fundraiser, which benefits the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club in New York City and similar clubs in Palm Beach County.

“At Kips Bay we always strive to show the best and most diverse roster of designers. Whether (at show houses) in New York, Dallas or Palm Beach (County), we select a roster of designers from the applicants that will present ideas, visions and viewpoints of the broadest nature,” the statement said. “Our attendees enjoy seeing the work of talent from many regions, a lot of the time from outside their own backyard and discover designers they may not be familiar with.”

The list of participating firms includes Amanda Reynal Interiors of Des Moines, Iowa; Andrea Schumacher Interiors of Denver; Ashley Gilbreath Interior Design of Montgomery, Alabama; Bakes and Kropp Fine Cabinetry, Peter Pennoyer Architects and Philip Gorrivan Design, all of New York City; Bell Design Inc. of Washington, D.C.; and Beth Diana Smith Interior Design of Montclair, New Jersey.

Also on the design roster are Catherine M. Austin Interior Design of Charlotte, North Carolina; Craig & Co. of Chicago and New York; Damour Drake of Hudson, New York; Goddard Design Group of Springdale, Arkansas; Janie Molster Designs of Richmond, Virginia; Joy Street Design of Oakland, California; and Noz Design of San Francisco.

Others who will be contributing designs are Paloma Contreras Interior Design and Pearl Design Interiors, both of Houston; Robert Brown Interior Design and Tish Mills Interiors, both of Atlanta; Sarah Bartholomew Design LLC of Nashville; and Tiffany Brooks Interiors of Grayslake, Illinois.

“This year’s show house location is only a few blocks away from one of our 17 Clubs in Palm Beach County,” said Jaene Miranda, president and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County. “It is only fitting that the talented designers will transform this historic home while our club staff helps to transform the lives of club members a short distance away.”

The show house will run March 5 to April 3. General admission tickets are $40, and virtual-tour tickets are $20. A by-special-ticket-only “preview day” will be held March 4. For tickets and more information about the fundraiser, visit KipsBayDecoratorShowHouse.org/palmbeach.
